All LS & Vortec engines use TTY (Torque To Yield) head bolts and are one use only...you cannot reuse them. They stretch once, often if reuse is attempted they will break. Do you want to deal with that? I didn't think so!
ARP offers both Head Stud kits and Head Bolts for the LS & Vortec family of engines.
There are 2 different applications;
- 2003 and Earlier model years
- 2004 and later model years
What is the difference? Early LS & Vortecs use 2 different length 11mm head bolts in addition to the 8mm "pinch" bolts. 2004 and later use 11mm head bolts that are all the same length in addition to the 8mm "pinch" bolts. On the production heads, there are 5 head bolts surrounding each cylinder. If you are using an aftermarket or GMPP head with the 6 bolt arrangement, email for assistance.
Check your engine carefully before ordering. If you are not sure, you may want to remove the heads to see what you have.
